Our lab was one of the first to begin experimenting with digital photography in the early 1990's. After purchasing our digital camera and printer in 1993, we began the slow process of combining "digital" with "photography". After several years of experimenting, we finally came up with the right combination of lighting, computers, and software. In the fall of 1996, we moved to full time digital photography and have been extremely pleased with the results.
Because these photographs are stored in a "digital" format, we are able
to make individual prints as large as 8x10 or as small as a contact print.
We can also create various mounts as needed. For your convenience, we keep
a copy of the mounted photos on our computer. If you ever need any reprints
of the photos, simple call us and we will pull up our copy and make prints
for you. There are no negatives to keep track of and the computer image
does not degrade over time.
Most people prefer to view their photographs in the conventional paper form.
However, there are certain advantages to viewing the photos on a computer
screen. The images can be easily enlarged, rotated, and manipulated using
tools available on your computer software. The images can also be exported
for use in other documents. If this is something of interest to you, please
contact us to obtain a digital copy of the photographs. We will also be
happy to assist in setting up your computer and viewing software.
